The Film Society uses volunteers year-round, and especially during the San Francisco International Film Festival. All volunteers are scheduled by using the SFFS Volunteer Shiftboard. If you would like to join our team, fill out the online Volunteer Application to get registered and begin using the Shiftboard.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life, ranging from students to retirees. We provide a positive, respectful and friendly environment for people who support film and want to help create exciting events that celebrate cinema. Qualified volunteers enjoy working with the public, understand the importance of being reliable and have a love for film.

There are year-round opportunities to help with the Film Society in a number of different capacities. These are represented by different “teams” on the application.  Select which teams best represent your interests so you can receive notifications for volunteer opportunities happening throughout the year such as education screenings, office assistance and special events.

We will review your application once it has been submitted and contact you with volunteer opportunities that match your requests.
