By presenting an expansive year-round schedule of screenings and special events, the Film Society gives the community the opportunity to celebrate the art of cinema and encourages an appreciation for mainstream American independent and international films. Year-round programs include new works, archival works, special series and tributes. Film Society programmers introduce the films as well as any special guests in attendance for Q&A discussions, providing a richer, deeper context for Bay Area audiences. The Film Society's membership of nearly 4,000 is regularly contacted through weekly/biweekly emails and a bimonthly newsletter. Year-round or special program sponsorships are available as add-ons to Festival sponsorship or may be created based upon sponsor interests.
