Returning Journalists
If you attended the 2011 San Francisco International Film Festival or other San Francisco Film Society programs, submitted your coverage and are in good standing, you will receive an accreditation application via email in mid-February 2012. You should return the completed form with your digital headshot photo by April 9, 2012. Within two weeks you will receive confirmation of your accreditation status via email. Your press badge will be available for pick-up at the Festival Press Office, April 20–May 3.

Please do not forward the accreditation form. If you know of other journalists who would like to apply for accreditation, please have them follow the procedures for "New Requests" noted below.

Please ensure that we have your correct affiliation and contact information. If either has changed since this time last year notify Bill Proctor, Publicity Manager, at bproctor@sffs.org.

If you have attended the San Francisco International Film Festival in the past, but missed last year, please contact Bill Proctor, Publicity Manager, at bproctor@sffs.org.

New Requests
If you did not attend the 54th San Francisco International Film Festival or other San Francisco Film Society programs in 2011, then you need to submit the following to the Publicity department by email at bproctor@sffs.org:
  • A letter from your editor or producer on company letterhead that assigns you to cover the 2012 SFIFF or other San Francisco Film Society program, states the intention to publish or air your reports and specifies the type and extent of coverage you are planning (e.g. overview of the Festival, interviews with filmmakers, reviews of films, etc.)
  • A link to your website or recent copy of your publication or program, with circulation information
  • Recent coverage of either a film festival, a film-related story or an arts or entertainment story written or produced by you
Accreditation requests will not be considered without the above materials. Submission of these materials does not guarantee accreditation.

Upon approval of your request, you will receive an accreditation application. You must return the completed application with a digital headshot photo by April 9, 2012. Accreditation forms will not be processed without your photo. You will receive confirmation of accreditation within two weeks via email. Your press badge will be available for pick-up at the Festival Press Office, April 20–May 3.
