Michael A. Behrens

Michael A. Behrens is the Film Society’s filmmaker education program manager and formerly held the same title at Film Arts Foundation. He sits on the board of the Playwrights’ Center of San Francisco on the finance committee. Michael has taught motion picture lighting and camera at the Bay Area Video Coalition and FAF. He is earning his master’s degree in nonprofit administration at the University of San Francisco and developing a documentary exchange program in collaboration with Sun Yat-Sen University in China. His latest work as director of photography on the film, Climate Change, will premiere in September at the Rome International Film Festival in Georgia. Michael has taught acting and directing at the National Theater School of Finland and SUNY Potsdam. He has acted and directed in the U.S., Europe and Asia. He has worked at several theaters, including Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Chicago Dramatists, Tampere Theater of Finland, Seinajoki City Theater and San Diego Repertory. He has also appeared in several television shows and commercials in Europe and the U.S.
