In partnership with Film Arts Foundation, the Film Society presents a full range of filmmaker education classes engineered to help students young and old, novice and experienced, master the knowledge and tools they need to succeed as filmmakers—from concept and creation to execution and exhibition.
Instructors are talented, inspirational working professionals actively involved in the Bay Area film and media community, selected for their professional expertise and ability to convey the specific challenges of the changing contemporary film and media landscape.
The program features 12–15 classes per triquarterly session. Subjects will run the gamut from writing, directing and producing through financing, budgeting, legal needs and grants to marketing, publicity and exhibition, as well as film appreciation seminars, and more.
Classes will be held at the San Francisco Film Centre in the Presidio, at the Ninth Street Independent Film Center, and other locations. Online courses will also be offered as a complement to on-site classes.
Classes begin mid-October. Film Society members receive discounts to all classes. Enroll now.
