  • SFFS / KRF Filmmaking Grant

    SFFS / KRF Filmmaking Grants support feature narrative films that through plot, character, theme or setting explore human and civil rights, antidiscrimination, gender and sexual identity and other social issues of our time.

  • Producers Initiative

    The SFFS Producers Initiative supports independent producers currently working on narrative feature projects, through a combination of financial support, programs, mentorship, industry connections and access to a growing network of fellow filmmakers.

  • Documentary Film Fund

    The SFFS Documentary Film Fund supports riveting documentaries in postproduction distinguished by compelling stories, intriguing characters and an innovative visual approach.

  • Hearst Screenwriting Grant

    The SFFS / Hearst Screenwriting Grant is given to a mid-career screenwriter who has been a practicing writer for at least five years and who has previously written a minimum of one feature screenplay.

  • FilmHouse Residencies

    With generous funding from the Kenneth Rainin Foundation, the FilmHouse residency program is designed to offer free office space to filmmakers in various stages of production where they can share talents and resources with their peers.

  • Project Development & Fiscal Sponsorship

    The Film Society is dedicated to supporting emerging and established filmmakers. Our project development & fiscal sponsorship program is designed to help you step-by-step through the process of getting your film funded, made and seen.

  • Djerassi Fellowship

    The Djerassi Residency Award/SFFS Screenwriting Fellowship will provide a one-month residency at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program for an emerging or established screenwriter.
