Vanishing, or Khanty of Melting Siberia

Vanishing, or Khanty of Melting Siberia is a documentary about the consequences of global warming in Western Siberia and of the indigenous people who have inhabited the area for thousands of years and managed to preserve their unique subarctic culture. In late ’60s the Soviet government discovered oil in Western Siberia and took over the Khantys land. Now global warming is progressing here faster than almost anywhere else on the planet. Vigilante Vigilante: The Battle of Expression

Filmmakers Max Good and Nathan Wollman set out to expose a prolific “anti-graffiti vigilante vandal” who spray-paints silver blobs over existing graffiti.  Through trial and error, the filmmakers hone their amateur surveillance skills and eventually identify and confront their target.  The film then ventures deeper into questions over the legitimacy and motivations of graffiti and anti-graffiti, with perspectives from both sides and profiles of three other infamous anti-graffiti vigilantes across the U.S.

Thailand is a country with significant consequences for women who deviate from traditional roles.  Tomboys and Ladies inquires into the implications—personal and sociopolitical—of living outside the rules. Expressive filmmaking reveals both what is being said directly as well as the richness and complexity of the unspoken.

Voices of Veterans documents a unique five day retreat for returning veterans and family members from wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Vietnam.  Culminating in a dramatic welcome home ceremony attended by hundreds of civilians and older veterans, these men and women are truly welcomed home on Memorial Day, 2008.  Voices of Veterans documents this moving and important cultural event, which demonstrates the possibilities of healing not just for returning veterans, but for our society as a whole.
