The fourth SFFS Film Arts Forum—the Film Society’s bimonthly information-sharing, discussion, networking, professional-development jamboree—celebrates the vibrancy and vitality of Bay Area filmmaking on the eve of the San Francisco International Film Festival. This time around it’s all about the films. The night will be comprised of an excerpt screening and discussion with four featured filmmakers, followed by a laptop shop where invited guests—and you, we hope—share clips of works in progress. Eugene Corr, current FilmHouse resident, will share a clip of his current documentary project From Ghost Town to Havana, which explores the lives of two dedicated and charismatic baseball coaches in Oakland and Havana, Cuba. Then, Geralyn Pezanoski will present a clip from her film MINE, which premiered at this year’s South by Southwest Film Festival. Next, Jim Granato will show a sneak peak of his documentary D tour, which is in competition at the 52nd International, and Frazer Bradshaw will share an excerpt from his film Everything Strange and New, which premiered at Sundance and will screen at the 52nd International. Then other invited guests, including Dina Ciraulo, Tamara Perkins and Miles Montalbano—and any filmmaker looking for feedback—will screen clips from their current projects on laptops. It’s a professional development party for local makers. Bring your own laptop. Must be 21+ to attend.

Tickets are $5 for year-round SFFS members and $8 for the general public.
