In the new comedy Run, Fat Boy, Run, a down-on-his luck Brit (played by Simon Pegg, who cowrote the script with Michael Ian Black) believes he can win back the woman he wishes he hadn’t left at the altar by doing the one thing he believes will truly impress her: running a marathon. The film, which also stars Thandie Newton and Hank Azaria, with a cameo by The Office cocreator Stephen Merchant, is Schwimmer’s feature film debut. The Toronto Film Festival described it as a “laugh-out-loud tale about the distances one average Joe will run for love.”
