A wickedly comic look at the conventions and dramas of connubial bliss, Married Life promises dark humor, romantic deception and stylish melodrama. Chris Cooper and Patricia Clarkson, along with Rachel McAdams and Pierce Brosnan, sleekly embody 1940s-era spouses and lovers each progressively more conniving than the last. Sachs, whose last film was Forty Shades of Blue, set out this time for romantic comedy couched in the pathology and emotional trickery of a noir-inflected suspense flick.
