Cynthia Kane: International Funding Options for Indie Filmmakers
Cynthia Kane joined the Sundance Channel programming team in 1999 where she worked as Manager of Acquisitions and as a Documentary Programmer. Instrumental in the creation of Sundance Channel’s DOCday in 2002, she also programmed world cinema and produced several on-air series. Prior to Sundance Channel, Kane worked in programming and acquisitions at Showtime Networks. She worked on several independent fiction films, including the Spirit Award-nominated Bang, directed by Ash (Ashley Baron Cohen). In January 2007, Kane moved cross-continent to San Francisco to work as Senior Programming Manager at ITVS, overseeing the International Initiative and the International Call for funding.
