You’ve just finished your film. Now what? Better yet, you’ve just decided to make a film, what should you do now and moving forward to prepare for your future publicity and marketing campaigns? Learn from filmmaker Aurora Guerrero (whose debut feature film Mosquita y Mari played at SFIFF55 following its world premiere at Sundance) and veteran film publicist Hilary Hart about how to market and publicize your film. Students will receive guidance on identifying the difference between publicity and marketing and get tips on writing a press release, assembling a press kit, preparing film stills, developing a social networking campaign, hiring a publicist, budgeting, attending film festivals, compiling a press list and working with with TV, radio, print and online media.
