Influenced by Japanese folk tales involving spirits and ghosts, this short narrative set in 16th century Japan follows a violent feudal lord named Tadayoshi Uchiyama and a female shaman named Shizume, who discovers Tadayoshi’s violent secret. The story reveals the process in which Shizume transforms into Mitsu-ju, a beast that eats confessed secrets. Although the film is a standalone piece, the public screenings of this film feature interactive theater, where the audience is encouraged to participate in the secret sharing ritual from the film.
