SF Film Society Cinema is a THX certified theater with 143 seats, featuring 35mm film projection and HD digital video projection. The theater is available for screenings, lectures, conferences, presentations and a variety of special events.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is my date available?
We book our calendar 3 months in advance. While we do our best to accommodate all potential rentals, availability is significantly lower within a 3 month window. We recommend requesting your rental date no later than 3 months in advance for best availability.
How much does it cost?
Rental rates vary depending on time, day, and several other factors. Please contact rentals@sffs.org for a price quote. Minimum rental time is 4 hours.
My event won’t take 4 hours. Can I rent for less time?
While the running time of your event or screening may be less than 4 hours, we must take into account time for setup and breakdown with your crew. If your program is less than 60 minutes from start to finish, we may be able to waive this requirement.
Can I have a discount?
We offer discounts to non-profit organizations with proof of eligibility. Filmmaker Pro members are also eligible to receive these discounted rates provided that your membership is in good standing.
Will you promote my event?
We will consider promotion on a case-by-case basis. Our printing calendar requires at least 3 months notice for any event information to be considered for print in our publications. Any event information received after 3 months will not be included in any print material. Specific rates can be found at sffs.org/marketing-promotions.
