The offices of the San Francisco Film Society are located in the Presidio of San Francisco.

Driving Directions
Warning: The speed limit in most parts of the Presidio is 25 mph.

From the Arguello Gate

• Recommended for those coming from the Upper Haight, Twin Peaks and the Avenues
• Enter from Arguello Street and bear right past the golf course
• Turn right at the first stop sign onto Moraga Street
• Go two blocks and turn left on Mesa Street
• The long building on the left with arches is the San Francisco Film Centre, 39 Mesa Street
• The Film Society entrance is up the steps on the left side of the building

From the Lombard Gate
Recommended for those coming from the Marina, North Beach, Financial District, Chinatown, South of Market, the Bay Bridge and Marin

• Enter from Lombard Street
• Bear right at the second stop sign
• Go to the next stop sign and turn left onto Presidio Avenue
• This street ends at the San Francisco Film Centre, 39 Mesa Street
• The Film Society entrance is up the steps on the left side of the building

From the Presidio Gate
Recommended for those coming from points south, such as the Mission, Castro, Noe Valley, Potrero Hill, Bernal Heights, the Haight, Glen Park and the Western Addition

• Enter from Presidio Avenue
• Go down the hill about a half-mile
• Turn left onto Presidio Avenue, at the second stop sign
• This street ends at the San Francisco Film Centre, 39 Mesa Street
• The Film Society entrance is up the steps on the left side of the building

From the Bay Bridge

• Take the first San Francisco exit and follow the Embarcadero to Bay Street
• Turn left at Van Ness Avenue
• Turn right at Lombard Street
• Enter from the Lombard Gate (see further instructions above)

From the Golden Gate Bridge

• Take 101 into San Francisco and enter the Presidio from the Lombard Gate (see further instructions above)

PUBLIC TRANSIT DIRECTIONS
From San Francisco, take either of these Muni routes:

29 Sunset bus

• Take the one that says "US Army Hospital" (aka Letterman), not "25th and California"
• Get off at the Parade Ground
• Walk to the San Francisco Film Centre, 39 Mesa Street
• The Film Society entrance is up the steps on the left side of the building

43 Masonic bus

• Stops at Presidio Avenue near Letterman Hospital
• Walk left on Presidio Avenue
• This street ends at the San Francisco Film Centre, 39 Mesa Street
• The Film Society entrance is up the steps on the left side of the building

From the East Bay

Take BART to the Montgomery station. Transfer to the 38 Geary (outbound) at Montgomery and Geary. Continue on Geary for about three miles. At Geary and Masonic transfer to the 43 Masonic (inbound towards Marina) and follow the directions above for the 43 Masonic.
